This was a classic episode, especially for the likes of two guest stars; veteran actor Leon Ames and beautiful Gayle Hunnicutt. Hunnicutt, in an early tv role, originally worked as a model (without too much surprise). Here she plays Emaline Fetty, another in a long line of blackmailers and cons, who also wants to blackmail Mr. Dysdale! The running gag here is that she has a cuckoo clock with a secret camera? OMG.
Best of the best is Leon Ames, in a fun role as country Colonel Foxhall (which sounds like Fox Hole?), who is the spitting image of fried chicken king Colonel Sanders! Of course is a horse, Ames played the colonel on MR. ED, so fondly remembered. Ames said in later years, that of all the roles he played and in some classic films, he was best remembered for MR ED! Let's face it, we all grew up watching the famous talking horse!
To note, Gayle Hunnicutt was just a few years away from movie stardom, in such crime dramas as PJ, starring Raymond Burr and MARLOW, starring James Garner. Watch this one for the shear insanity of it all, as this is a prime example if comedy writing 101. What an insane tv show, and with lots of talent.
SEASON 5 EPISODE 5 1966 CBS restored dvd box set.
