Frank Overton, who played Sandoval on Star Trek's This Side of Paradise is the main character in this revenge story. Here Overton plays the role of Amos Crenshaw, a man whose son is killed in a shoot-out with Little Joe. To complicate matters, a young woman comes from another town and claims that Little Joe had also killed her brother. She puts up bounty posters offering one thousand dollars for the death of Little Joe.
The rest of this episode is played out as a suspense thriller. Various cowboys plot to kill Little Joe, while the young woman who blames Little Joe for her brother's death is constantly riling up the town to seek justice. Eventually, the real killer of her brother is discovered, and this leads to more shocks and surprises. But will it be too late to save Little Joe?
During this story, Little Joe feels guilty about killing Crenshaw's son, and he tries to bring closure to Overton/Crenshaw. The story focuses on the grief of Crenshaw, and how he slowly loses his mind realizing that his only son is dead. Will Crenshaw come to terms with his loss, or will he try to shoot it out with Little Joe? Will Crenshaw get revenge, or will he get killed also? The ending has a lot of drama, and it is also a bit sad. This is one of the better episodes of Bonanza.
