Capt. Brass, Grissom, Catherine and Greg investigate a man found dead in a dumpster of a restaurant. The man is well dressed to be homeless and Dr. Robbins finds in the autopsy that his stomach had six liters of food inside and his fingernails have been chewed down. David Phillips finds a napkin from a pretzel stand and Catherine goes there to interview the owner, where she retrieves his wallet. When she finds the business card of the promoter for the Extreme Eating Federation, Digger James, they start to track down the steps of Jerry Gable. Meanwhile, Sofia Curtis, Nick and Sara investigate the death of Michael and Lori Tinsley in their home. They see also a car in the driveway that does not belong to them. There are also vinyl records missing in their collection. They also find the golden retriever Kahlua inside a room. They summon the owner of the car, Missy Halter, who tells that she is Michael's girlfriend and had lent her car to him. Further, the Tinsley couple was divorcing and she took the albums for Michael as per his request. When Davis Phillips finds a bullet in Michael's brain and Nick learns that a golden retriever also called Kahlua was found in the park, the team solves the case.
"Dog Eat Dog" is an episode of "CSI' that begins with the information that Capt. Brass has been cleared. The case of Jerry Gable is disgusting, but is a chance for us to learn that there is this Prader-Willi Syndrome. The case of the golden retriever is ironical. My vote is seven.
