When Grissom needs to go to a conference and Catherine to an opening of a casino in Reno dating Sam Braun, he puts Warrick in charge of the graveyard shift. Soon there is a case to be investigated relative to the death of a con-man in a parking lot. The couple Matt and Cindy Orton have just been cheated by the victim, Vincent Thomas Avery, and lost two thousand dollars that now are evidence. Warrick has difficulties to impose himself to his colleagues, but handles the work with a great support of Nick. When the coroner Dr. Albert 'Al' Robbins finds bagged drugs in Vincent's stomach, they learn that he is also a mule. Their further investigation shows that Brass' estranged daughter Ellie is involved in the case. Detective Sam Vega assumes Brass' position to void interference in the case, but Ellie is his daughter.
"Ellie" is a good episode of "CSI", with the involvement of Captain Jim Brass' daughter Ellie. She is estranged from her father and a complicated woman. The change of behavior of Brass, threatening the low-life that lives with his daughter, is completely different of the Brass we see in the episodes. The conclusion is not corny and is a plus in this show. My vote is seven.
