Clowning Around

Two stories. A clown is murdered and left in a seedy part of Vegas. We get some insights into the world of clowning. The second is about a young woman who is hopelessly trying to get out of the world of addiction. The man who tried to save her is found dead. Both episodes are interesting and the second is quite poignant.

The Healer and the Clown A man drives though a red zone of Las Vegas in the middle of prostitutes, homeless and drug addicted people. He stops his car and walks in the middle of the outcast people. Grissom and Capt. Brass arrive in the place and find the man stabbed several times in the chest. In the autopsy, they identify the man as Ed Burnell and learn that he worked in a half-way house, using the drug Ibogaine in drug addicted persons to heal them. Ed was addicted and had used this drug in the past and now he was clean. They go to the half-way house and the worker Sinclair says that Ed Burnell was obsessed to heal junkies, and shows his last case with Mindy in a videotape that was clean after the treatment. Meanwhile, Catherine, Sara and Det. Cavaliere investigate the murder case of a man in a notorious junkyard used by travesties. Their investigation shows that the man is the clown Donny Zanko. Now they look for his last steps to find where and when he was murdered.

"Getting Off" is another episode of "CSI" divided in two good segments. The first about the world of junkie helpless people without a family. The actress Heather Kafka, who performs Mindy DuPont, is impressively thin. The other segment shows how clowns are selected in a city like Las Vegas, through agents. My vote is seven.
