A Great Start To The Series
Jimmy_the_Gent428 July 2020
Normally the first show in a series take awhile to get going but this one is excellent, all the familiar components are here right from the start. There is a Q&A where Carol tells the guest is Jim Nabors. She talks about the regulars and Lyle Waggoner comes on stage, Carol swoons in his arms

The first sketch is a hilarious one called VIP, where host Harvey Korman interviews Shirley Dimple (Carol's great impression of Shirley Temple). There are some topical references to President Johnson and current senator and former actor George Murphy.

Jim Nabors sings the recent hit "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" partly in Italian.

There is another funny sketch set in a ski lodge. Carol has a broken arm and Jim has a broken leg and they keep bumping into each other.

Carol and Jim do an entertaining medley of Broadway tunes, including 'Cool" from "West Side Story", "Till There Was You" from "The Music Man and several others.

The first Carol and Sis sketch has Vicki Lawrence as sister Chris and Harvey as husband Roger. Carol and Roger send Chris on a date with a short guy.

The Charwoman makes her first appearance, she is cleaning up a discotheque called The Angry Arm. The dancers appear and they do a psychedelic dance. Carol then sings a slow version of "Georgy Girl"

Carol sings her theme song at the end and Jim and the regulars sign her autograph book.
