Dying rich man Jebusi McKinney (superbly played by Edward Asner) rounds up the remainder of his friends and family so he can figure out who deserves what of his considerable estate and holdings which include the dead man's gun.

Director Joseph L. Scanlon relates the engrossing story at a constant pace as well as maintains a sober mood throughout. Siobhan Byrne O'Connor's sinewy script not only astutely observes how family gatherings bring out both the best and worst in people (with a definite emphasis on the worst in this particular case), but also depicts with painful clarity how greed and money can rip a family asunder. The excellent acting by the tip-top cast rates as another significant asset: Helen Shaver as the treacherous Dianna, Mark Humphrey as conniving fop Bruce, Ocean Hellman as the fragile Anne, Terry David Mulligan as Jebusi's dashing business partner Max Lundy, Ken Ryan as the bitter Winston, Peter Hanlon as tough lawyer Arthur Nevins, and Scott Bellis as loyal servant Peter Herrick. A strong show.
