Strother Martin was a top rated springboard diver. He attended The Univ. Of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and earned the nickname of "T-Bone" from his style of diving. In competition as a diver for the US Olympic team, Strother placed a well respected third place, but missed selection for the US Olympic Team. During WW II, Strother served in the US Navy as a swimming instructor.
