Wouldn't Be Easier To Just Tell Him?
nlathy-839-3006773 August 2023
The Mitchells want to keep Mr. Wilson in town to get an award. So they tell him they're going to move. The parents have enough of a task dealing with Dennis thinking it's true. They have to contend with rest of town, too. Oh these comic misunderstandings. It's a good way to generate unwarranted gifts. Maybe it's a good way to increase contacts with long lost friends and neglected relatives. We're just thrilled to get reactions and suggestions from George. And Dennis needs everything explained to him especially at his age in Season 1. Well, it's good fun. And it's not hard to understand why the show was a hit.

Keeping A Secret

Mr. Wilson is being honored with an award for his work with the Community Chest, but the Mitchells want it to be a surprise.

A fairly amusing episode, not one of the funniest. The town doctor is played by Arthur Space, who was in The Big Noise with Laurel & Hardy and would later be in the 1970s horror movie Terror At Red Wolf Inn.

When Henry finds out Mr. Wilson will be out of town during the luncheon, he makes up a story that the Mitchells are moving to NY and need Wilson to make a speech at their going away party. Wilson has some funny moments as he delights at the thought of Dennis being gone.
