An unpleasant situation is made worse for Mary Jo when J.D. moves in temporarily and then loses his job, making Mary Jo concerned that she's not going to be able to get rid of him. They have a horrible argument where they say some pretty hurtful things to each other, both instantly regretting it. This could have been an unpleasant plot line, showing two people that are truly right for each other breaking up over something ridiculous, but fortunately the writing smooth things over in an easy and believable manner.
Then there's a minor subplot concerning Charlene's dependents on a psychic, "Tovah of Biloxi", whom Julia thinks it's a crackpot and fraud. But when the woman, played by Gloria Cromwell, shows up, it's difficult for Julia to prove her claims and it does indeed appear that Tovah is on the up and up. A very funny moment has Dixie Carter doing an Eastern European accent to try to prove to Charlene how these psychics work, and it makes me wish that she had done this more. Very funny episode that takes a subject matter that I didn't think would be fairly resolved and does well with it.
