- The Finkelsteins hold their seven-yearly karmic cleansing, which means confessing one's faults to the victim, who forgives by blowing them into an imaginary bubble. Greg adopts this hippie lunacy at home, but when Kitty forgives Dharma 'since you didn't mean it' she dares not confess, and believes from then to be unlucky through spoiled karma. Meanwhile Larry proves most unforgiving as maid Celia's 'union rep', extorting better conditions from 'management negotiator' Edward, although neither knows her present pay.—KGF Vissers
- Dharma's performs the ritual of unburdening of her sins where she tells every person all the lies, she told them over the last 7 years. Larry says that it is science. Every 7 years the body gets new cells, and one does not want to burden them with the sins of the old cells. Larry says that bad things can happen if you don't unload your cosmic baggage.
This ceremony is done every seven years reveals things for e.g. she tells Abby that she never mooned a cop, never had a lesbian experience, never had a Colonic and she went to Disneyland, does an impersonation of Abby, that would be better off remaining a burden. She tells Greg that 2 weeks after their wedding, his girlfriend called, and Dharma told her that Greg was gay and was in prison. She faked not having an orgasm. She did these 30 more times.
Greg is desperate that Dharma doesn't go to Kitty as declared and unburdens to her. He tells her that he moved a bird's nest once (because the noise of their chirping was disturbing him and not due to the threat of an eagle, as Greg had told Dharma earlier), which Dharma tells him meant that the chicks probably starved to death since the mamma bird wouldn't be able to find her nest. Dharma is in tears as Greg is a baby murderer.
Larry acts as Celia's union agent & gets her to go on strike. Larry is appalled that Celia does not have access to a dental plan and has no one representing her in wage negotiations with the Montgomery. Larry takes Celia to his home and says that it does not matter whether Celia deserves a better deal or not, she is entitled to it. This shows how much control Celia has over Kitty's personality. Celia was giving decaf to Kitty, watering down her martinis and passing off a mild laxative as Valium. Without Celia, Kitty has gone half insane and is prancing around in her wedding dress, trying to do laundry.
Dharma lies to Kitty during the unburdening. Dharma tells all the things she did to Kitty like bringing a monkey to her charity event, brought a drag queen to her Jacuzzi, sent her patio furniture to Mexico and so on. Kitty is drunk and asks Dharma if she did everything she said out of purpose, and Dharma says no. Dharma's cosmic karma goes haywire & the universe turns against her. Pigeons crap on her, she becomes accident prone & this forces her to come clean to Kitty. Dharma confesses that she liked all the things she did to Kitty. Kitty was nursing a gigantic hangover and did not have a clue of what Dharma was talking about. Kitty forgives Dharma.
Greg tries to negotiate between Larry and Edward and turns out neither of them knows how much Celia is actually paid. Edward says that the accountant pays the bills, while Larry never really bothered to talk to Celia. Edward agrees to meet Larry's demands so that Kitty can get back to her normal self but turns out Larry doesn't know what his demands are. The new contract has casual Fridays.
