Dang hippies!
planktonrules27 November 2009
This episode seemed to be Jack Webb's way of telling hippies to take a bath, get a haircut and get a job! While I can certainly understand the sentiment, the episode does come off as a bit preachy. You might want to see it for yourself to see what you think.

The show starts with a woman reporting theft of some of her credit cards. It seems that someone is running up big bills around town with them and she has no idea who is responsible. Friday and Gannon investigate but really don't solve the crime themselves. Eventually, a hippie (Gary Crosby--son of Bing) calls to say that it's his wife who has been using these credit cards. What makes this odd is that it seems like he's a walking poster child for throwing your life away as a hippie, as he's into meditation and not working. His home is a mess and he seems quite content to live like a pig. Gannon makes a pointed comment and in the end of the episode Crosby and his wife have made some sweeping life changes--just as they are about to go to court for the forgery and theft charges.

An interesting historical curio but a bit obvious.
