"Light of the world, shine on me, love is the answer." England Dan and John Ford Coley

This is part one of the finale to Edgemont, this is truly the beginning of the end for everyone and right now for Laurel it's decision time.

Really like the scene with the couch where both Chris and Mark are trying to move it out but are unsuccessful. In a way this is obviously metaphoric on Laurel's dilemma on deciding whether to stay or go in her relationship with Mark and move on to someone else may 'be Chris. Though if you look at it another way it could reflect how Laurel deep down doesn't want both her and Mark to end because she still loves him but due to what's going on with Mark she's not sure she really has any place with him anymore.

We then come to the coffee shop, and of course Laurel has one final talk down with Maggie. Despite a little jealousy but mainly frustration toward Maggie, I really like what Laurel says which is something I feel about certain romances in other shows that stretch out the suspense more than desired like Leo and Jemma in "Agents of Shield" and any others from shows you can think of. Once the fun in the suspense is gone and just grates my nerves, I always think "just fraking get together already, no more of this put off bullcrap, you know you want to so just do it!" But I also feel that's true about romance in reality to be honest about your feelings about the other right now, otherwise your both going nowhere.

Really like the small conversation both Chris and Laurel have, seeing both of them together you can't help but think both could have been something had it happened years ago but it didn't it wasn't in the cards for them, as for Maggie and Mark I don't entirely know unless something happens in the final minutes. Chris tells Laurel as it is that she needs to make her choice because time is already running out. That's true for her and true for everyone else.

Also, both Jen and Mark have a conversation, both have two things in common, as both use to have a relationship together but in the end it just wasn't in the cards. The other is just like Laurel and Chris they have a decision to make. When Mark explains Laurel's moving you can tell from his tone a hint of sadness, as he's realizing it's really happening, and Laurel could be gone from his life for good. Jen is thinking about going away basically taking the easy way from it all and not deal with her problems or just anything in life in general.

But Mark of course brings her to reality and tells her as it is. I like what he says about his thoughts about getting away from it all, this is true with all of us even I do almost every day mainly when things feel like their getting too tough, but most of us never do it not because we're lazy or scared but because we subconsciously know the truth. And the truth is that our problems and dilemmas won't go away because they don't solve themselves, we have to deal with them sooner or later, because that's the only way to move forward.

The final minutes are beautiful as we see both Laurel and Mark have a conversation late in the night, from the truth of where both of them are at in the relationship but also Laurel finally makes her decision but also Mark has made his decision also; you could say we all already knew the answer but it was all a question of when for the pay off and we get it in full because in the end it really is in the cards for both Laurel and Mark.

Really like the last thing both say to each other and that's actually true about myself even I don't always know where I'm coming from, but that is also love itself.

Rating: 4 stars.
