Big Mistake!!!

Frasier, tired of what his father's chair does to the decor, buys a new leather recliner and somehow the old one is taken away. The show has to do with sentimentality and the loss of the past. The final scenes where a teacher is trying to direct a junior high production of Ten Little Indians is pretty funny. Also Daphne trying on Maris's necklace is a hoot.

Give Him the Chair!

Warning: Spoilers
This is a great episode, with 'Frasier' on top of its game.

It combines very smart humour, some lovely lines, but also a good amount of heart, and it's nice to see John Mahoney do more as Frasier's dad, Martin.

For a first series of a show 'Frasier' has really hit the ground running, with very few dud episodes along the way. This certainly is up there with one of the best from the batch of episodes.

'Frasier' would do a very similar episode to this (Frasier getting rid of his dad's chair) later in its run, very much in the post golden era period, and it wasn't half as successful as this, because they did it perfectly here.

The Chair steals the show!

There aren't that many episodes of Frasier I can watch again. But the last quarter of this one makes it worthwhile, when Martin's chair, that Frasier accidentally gives away, ends up on stage at a High School play. It is here where the comedy really hits as he turns up to fight for the chair with Jane Curtain's character who is pulling her hair out over the problems she's having with her school cast and the last thing she wants is to let Frasier have that chair!
