Danny Bonaduce's TV debut.
People may recognize Jonathan's classmate, Danny Shoemaker, played by Danny Bonaduce ( known for his role in The Partridge Family ). Watching the credits, the writer has the same last name, Joseph Bonaduce - Danny's father! He also wrote other installments, and popular shows of the time.
Carolyn Muir attributes the phrase "It's not whether you win or lose but how you play the game" to a twentieth century wise man. Historically, the noble expression about how you play the game came from a Greek historian's fifth-century B.C. reference to the Olympians, who wrote, "Tis not for money they contend, but for glory." The phrase resurfaced in 1927 when the sportswriter Grantland Rice wrote, "For when the great scorer comes to write against your name, He marks not that you won or lost but how you played the game." It is likely Grantland to whom Carolyn is referring.
