Jean's house, where Gidget went to the party, was the Stone's house on The Donna Reed Show (1958). The difference is that on The Donna Reed Show (1958), the master bedroom was upstairs and, in Jean's house, it's off the living room, which is where Dr. Stone's office was.
The title is from the phrase "too many cooks spoil the broth."
Peter Brooks and Don Porter both appeared in the film Gidget Goes to Rome (1963). Don Porter reprises his role as Gidget's father in this series. Peter Brooks appears here as a different character.
The house the Cook brothers stop in front of in the convertible is the same house used as the exterior of the Stephens' house in Bewitched (1964). Both shows were shot on the same backlot.
Bonnie Franklin, who plays Jean here, would go on to star in her own TV sitcom in the 70s, playing that of Ann Romano in the long-running series One Day at a Time (1975), a role for which she is perhaps best remembered.
