April ( Stefanie Powers ) receives a phone call from a frightened young woman requesting help. She is cut off. When April and Mark ( the late Noel Harrison ) arrive at the phone box, they find the woman dead, apparently from old age. She had been a client of a health and beauty clinic known as Rejuven Isle, located somewhere off the Scandinavian coast. April poses as a new customer, while Mark takes the place of a Cockney photographer called 'Terry Crump' ( Harvey Jason ). The clinic's owners - 'Baroness Ingrid Blangstead' ( Gena Rowlands ) and 'Peter Starker' ( Donnelly Rhodes, a.k.a. 'Dutch' in the sitcom 'Soap' ) - have developed two revolutionary new drugs - one capable of making people young, the other making them incredibly old - and are blackmailing the wives of important men.
Based on a story by Robert Bloch, author of 'Psycho', this is another above average episode, giving April the welcome chance to engage in on-screen combat - while snooping round the clinic, she is attacked by a member of staff, and the brawling pair wind up in a mud bath. Mark, however, has problems of his own - his cover is blown and the Baroness pushes him into a pig-sty to be devoured by the ravenous animals there. 'Boarmerden', the farmer, is played by British actor John Orchard, who spoofed 'John Steed' of 'The Avengers' in an episode of 'Get Smart!'. 'Terry Crump' looks to be the prototype for Mike Myers' obnoxious 'Austin Powers' character, though far more likable. He wears a Nazi uniform while working, but on hearing that Rejuven Isle might be a violent place declines to go there! This is a touching moment where 'Madame Dao' ( Miiko Taka ) tells her husband she only wanted to become young again to please him, and he replies: "Let's grow old together!".
Directed by E. Darrell Hallenbeck.
