Guess who's going to be a bride
kevinolzak21 December 2016
"Love Has a Spot on His Lung" finished the fourth season in two parts, lifelong bachelor Carl Dixon (Moses Gunn) intending to propose to Florida and inviting the Evans children to lunch to discuss it. Expecting to hear a marriage proposal, Florida is stunned to get something quite the opposite, a short break up speech before Carl silently makes his exit. Carl drowns his sorrows with Ned the Wino (Raymond Allen, last of four), as the dapper Looting Lenny (Dap Sugar Willie, second of seven) flashes his fur coat: "so don't dance off to JC Penney when you can buy great goods from sweet Lenny!" Carl mentions he's in the market for a 25-inch TV set: "if I'd have known that, I would have worn my other coat!" In a fighting mood, JJ challenges Carl in front of Ned the Wino: "don't fight with him, he's buying!" The sob story he gives JJ is merely a smoke screen to cover the awful truth, cancer.
