Loved the flashback of Duncan and Amanda. Writers write Amanda dumb again. Clever Duncan takes advantage of the quickening's lightning.

Warning: Spoilers
Kalas(and Nino) kill Christine and the Tribune editor before they have a chance to do anything with the disc. Now he uses the disc to blackmail Duncan into letting him kill him otherwise everything on the disc goes to all the news sources in the world. Duncan and Amanda reflect on their history and feelings for each other as they feel the entire world will soon know about immortals. Joe continues to look for the disc.

Remember when Amanda escaped in part 1? Well, I can only assume she told Duncan and the gang where she was being held. But there seems to be no follow-up. As in going there looking for clues. We have to assume Kalas moved to another location right? But it looks like the exact same location in part 2. You don't think....? Nah...

I see in trivia someone wrote that there is a picture of an immortal from 1818 on the Chronicle DVD. Saying it's unlikely they would have had a picture given the developing process at the time. Well, I'm pretty sure that is a painting. You can see an artist's signature on it. A picture of the painting could have been taken much later.

Did they have to have Christine be killed by that creepy Nino, with her terrified and screaming? Yet again more terrorizing of women on this show. There seems to be some misogyny behind the scenes. I mean they just seemed to enjoy doing it too much in the series.

I loved the flashback of Duncan and Amanda in 1753 Turkey. They were both so funny and the scene was comedic and swashbuckling.

Amanda: "All that fussing over a little arrow."

Duncan: "Really?"

I laughed so hard when Duncan held the big sized arrow up. I didn't really care for their dance upon the Eiffel Tower. I don't know why I just thought it was a bad scene especially with all those gawkers there. As for Duncan and Amanda. Yes, they love each other. But are they "in love" with each other? I never really felt like they were. Although I think Amanda was one of the better pairings with Duncan.

The Watchers look like they are a pretty big and rich organization, don't they? Where does all the money and funding come from I wonder?

Why did they write Amanda dumb again in part 2, and have her try and fight Kalas again? She already knows she can't win against Kalas. Grrrr... those darn women-hating writers again.

Of course, Duncan considers sacrificing himself to save everyone. He always wants to be the noble savior. But this was too ridiculous even for him. Methos. gotta love him, points a few truths out to our noble hero.

I had to laugh when Kalas dropped his sword, what was left of it, thinking Duncan wouldn't kill him. He was probably the most intelligent, methodical immortal Duncan went up against, but boy did he drop the ball on his strategy not taking into account, Duncan's cleverness. He was too much of a narcissist to give Duncan any credit for having brains.

Needless to say the quickening from on top the Eiffel Tower with all the lighting was probably the most spectacular one in the show. Clever of Duncan to use the quickening's lightning and the Tower as a lightning rod, knowing the disc was located somewhere on Rue du Mars near the Eiffel Tower. I gave the episode a 9/10

Great finale

Lots of good suspense and a great episode in the development of Amanda and Duncan's relationship. I love that aspect of this show even if Amanda is a bit of a pain and morally ambiguous at times. I also love it when Duncan is a true hero.

My one objection would be how quickly Duncan went from in love and ready to marry Anne, his first marriage, to being so tight with Amanda. This is more than just friends with benefits. It's too quick. It seems disingenuous. Otherwise I'd be all for it if I thought it was sincere.

Made Amanda look weak

Of course Macleod had to be He-Man and fight the big fight as is the whole concept of the show, but they made Amanda look like a lovesick schoolgirl instead of the bright, scheming temptress that she was. She had the location knowledge and ability to solve a major part of Macload's dilemma before the big fight even happened but the storyline failed her in almost every way (her fight didn't need to happen - should have been replaced by her misdirection and retrieval of the item). His turmoil during the big fight just seemed like unnecessary drama as his decision now makes him look like a selfish ass.
