Quotes
-
Ricky Ricardo : What are you gonna do?
Lucy Ricardo : Oh, I kinda want to get off by myself, you know, feel the pulse of the city, get the true flavor of Paris.
Ricky Ricardo : Honey, you can't go running around Paris all by yourself... Paris is a big city, and not knowing the language, you're liable to get into a lot of trouble.
Lucy Ricardo : Oh, pooh. When you first came to the United States, you didn't get into a lot of trouble because you didn't know the language, did you?
Ricky Ricardo : I'm married, aren't I?
[to Fred and Ethel]
Ricky Ricardo : She told me that "I do" meant "Pleased to meet you" and then she introduced me to the preacher.
-
Lucy Ricardo : Ricky, I'm in the Bastille!
-
Lucy Ricardo : Waiter, this food has snails in it!
-
Ethel Mertz : [on arrival in Paris] Lucy, I'm so excited I don't think I can stand it.
Lucy Ricardo : Oh, honey, I feel the same way.
Fred Mertz : What a town! Hasn't changed a bit. Everything is exactly the same as it was in 1918.
Ethel Mertz : Present company excepted!
-
Lucy Ricardo : [on seeing her escargot, she tries but fails to eat it] Maybe if I had some ketchup.
Waiter : Sauce tomate?
Lucy Ricardo : Yeah, sauce tomate.
[the waiter goes to the kitchen, hardly believing his ears]
Lucy Ricardo : Lots of it!
Lucy Ricardo : [while the waiter is away, Lucy picks up a snail and talks to it] I think an American cousin of yours ate my geranium plant.
Chef : [the chef comes out to Lucy's table, furious] C'est ridicule, absolument ridicule. Sauce tomate!...
Chef and Waiter, together : [Lucy pays the 400 francs for the meal, but the waiter and chef return, calling for the police] Gendarme... gendarme...
Lucy Ricardo : Gendarme? POLICE?
Waiter : Oui, police, madame!
Lucy Ricardo : Since when is it a crime to put ketchup on snails?
Chef : C'est monnaie contrefait.
