Big developments
bkoganbing25 January 2021
This first of a two part episode has Chief Gillespie's natural daughter Christine Elise coming back to Sparta to fix up the property left her by her mother. But there are folks that are eying that property and the property of her mentally challenged neighbor Scott Allen Higgs.

Developers headed by Rusty Schwimmer want that property for a big project. They're not all that squeamish as to methods either.

Veteran big and small screen heavy Don Stroud is an arsonist by trade and he's hired for his alleged skills. There is some question about them.

Burgess Meredith makes the first of two appearances as a cantankerous judge and he steals the episode. Nice confrontation climax with Stroud with Sparta's finest.

Slow reaction

This is about this episode, and others as well. How come when there is an emergency the police react slow.? They don't seem to run to call for help. There's never an urgency, especially when Parker is on the radio (because he's too busy eating). I find it humorous. Continue watching/rewatching the show and you see what I see.
