When Morse speaks with Mr Brown in the museum, Mr Brown tells him that he saw Eddie in Didcot on a train to London at about 11:35, and that he captured it on his video camera. However when the video camera recording is shown it has a time of 14:01 on it.
At the beginning of the episode when Laura and Eddie Poindexter arrive at their hotel room, the door opens outwards into the hallway. When we see the shot of Laura Poindexter lying dead on the floor, you can see the door closing as someone leaves the room and the door closes from the inside. When Morse and Lewis leave the room with the coroner, the door once again opens outwards into the hallway.
There are two doors; an outer door which opens into the hallway and an inner door which opens into the room. Both doors can been seen clearly when Max is leaving the room and Lewis holds the door for him.
There are two errors in the credits of this episode. Christine Norden is billed as Christine Morden, and the character name and actress name are the wrong way round for Shirley Brown played by Helena Stevens.
After the body is found in the river, Lewis asks if a woman could have done it. Morse replies with "Hell hath no fury", presumably quoting Congreve's play The Mourning Bride. However, Morse, a stickler for correctness in literary matters, should know that the quotation is "Heaven hath no passion like love to hatred turned, nor Hell any fury like a woman scorned."
