This episode has Al Mundy in the Isle of Capri area when he asked to help a defecting Russian general to be relocated to the West. The general has a face makeover in order to conceal his identity. Al's contact in Italy has been kidnapped and drugged and an impostor has taken his place (a Russian agent). Al mingles with the people in the area in an attempt to find the defector while the Russian agent uses Al in order to find the defector as well. Al also comes upon a ditsy girl (played by Teri Garr) who almost blows his cover. Al tries to dump her on the Italian agent contact on a date and the Russian agent impostor later attempts to murder her (which didn't make sense). Al later realizes that he has been duped and rescues the real Italian agent and the Russian defector. He completes the mission by pulling an identity switch involving the Russian general defector, the Italian agent, and the Russian agent. This episode features John Van Dreelen's third appearance in this TV series (he also plays a Russian agent). Near the end of this episode, Noah Bain's name is mentioned. But his character was left out after the series began the third season in Italy.
