Always funny

Warning: Spoilers
I barely remember this episode, not having seen it since my childhood. Jack meets the Stewarts at a café, irritates them to near distraction, and he leaves first. But before going, he arranges with Jimmy to wave back at him from the cash register (I can't remember how he got that to happen), but then he explains to the waiter that Jimmy has agreed to pay for the meal! I wish I could remember more, and that I could see it again. Everybody in those days knew that Jack Benny was the funniest man around. Hmm . . . is anybody funnier today? But what's so amazing about the man is that, with all his stinginess, his tantrums, and his bullying, he was so completely adored by colleagues, cast, and all of America in those days.
