Jak Gets Invited To Dinner, Or Does He
dougdoepke13 March 2017
Hilarious episode, especially when Jack is mistakenly invited next-door to the Colman's for dinner. Of course, they've been touchy neighbors for some time, but Jack's thrilled anyway, getting all duded out in top hat and tails. Colman and wife Benita are perfect foils for Jack. With his British accent and cultured manner, Colman's a natural contrast to the flighty Jack. Here, Benny shows up at their door not realizing that the Jack they intended to invite (Sutton) is already there, and now they're an awkward foursome. Naturally, his reluctant hosts try to make the best of it even as Jack bumbles his way through in amusing fashion.

In real life, the three were in fact neighbors, and Jack got a lot of laughs from their friendly rivalry. Ronald and Benita had to be really good sports over the years to get kidded the way they were. Anyway, it's a really funny episode with Jack in fine form so don't miss it. And, oh yes! If Jack asks for a a treasured glass of your wine, don't let him have it.
