Klinger states that Igor is writing a gourmet cooking column for the MASH newspaper. Jeff Maxwell, who plays Igor Straminsky, did in fact write a cookbook; it's titled "The Secrets of the M*A*S*H Mess: The Lost Recipes of Private Igor", and it is available on Amazon. [2020]
The sergeant delivering the tongue depressors is played by the same actor who delivered the "mortar canon" to Hawkeye in the season 7 episode "Dear Comrade". In both episodes, his character is from supply. While not identified as such, he could be playing the same character in both episodes.
The episode's plot revolves around a requisition mistake in which instead of receiving the intended 5,000 tongue depressers, the 4077th is delivered half a million of them, as Supply receives the request with two extra zeroes included. In the previous episode, Father Mulcahy recounted a similar story about an accounting mishap in his past, where he had misplaced a decimal and threw his accounting numbers off by over $1,000.
Capt. Allen calls Hawkeye "Ben." Other than in letters from his father (such as in The Party (1979)) this is the only time in the series that someone refers to Hawkeye as "Ben."
When Hawkeye is naming off the members of the 4077th who have came and who have left, he never mentions Radar, who only left a season ago.
