Worth the watch for one scene in particular
VetteRanger13 December 2022
Cross & Double Cross revisits an earlier episode where a criminal enterprise substituted a look-alike for the Commissioner and kidnapped MacMillan with the intent of eventually killing him.

Now the Feds want to use the double in reverse so that Mac can infiltrate a criminal plan. In the meantime, the double has to return to his previous role of impersonating Mac so no one will be the wiser when he shows up in the underworld masquerading as the double. Confused yet? LOL

The highlight of the episode is at a society gala where the double and Mildred (Rock Hudson and Nancy Walker) perform a tango in an extended and absolutely hilarious scene. It's really not to be missed. One of the funniest dance sequences I've ever seen. :-)

The Commissioner and His Lookalike!
Sylviastel4 February 2019
Rock Hudson does double duty again as the San Francisco Police Commissioner and his lookalike in San Diego. It's not one of my favorite episodes because I couldn't stand when Hudson played him first time around. There is a memorable tango scene with Mildred and the lookalike at a charity event. Nancy Walker looked great and they steal the show and the episode.

Will the real commissioner stand up

Rock Hudson's double is paroled from prison so that Commissioner McMillan can go undercover to nab a gang of gold smugglers headed by the always beautiful Rhonda Fleming. While he's down in San Diego dealing Rhonda and her jealous number 2 Morgan Woodward, Hudson the convict is going through the motions of being police commissioner by day and a panting wolf at night with Nancy Walker guarding Susan Saint James's virtue.

Definitely one of the worst episodes of the series except for one very precious scene with Rock Hudson and Nancy Walker doing a tango at a charity event. They are really quite a pair on the dance floor.

The most Ridiculous Episode of the Series!
collectorofsorts8 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Mac plays his double to go undercover and bust a ring of gold thieves who are trying to smuggle $100 Million Dollars worth of gold into the country. We later find out that the fold has been made into a car (didn't we see this in a Bond movie). The unbelievable part is that gold was under $200 an ounce when this was broadcast. So, we're talking 500,000+ ounces of gold. The car would need concrete wheels and the plane that carried it would have never got off of the ground. Ridiculous episode!
