Probably the best two-parter of the entire series

Just a fantastic 2part episode from start to finish. Cinnamon didn't have much to do, but the rest of the cast was awesome. Jim doing more than he normally does, Barney of course getting into shape and finally boxing. Willie quietly being the muscle behind the scenes. Roland being everything from makeup artist for Barney, to pretending to be his manager. Sometimes these two part episodes are stretched out with lots of padding. Not this one. Each part has more than enough action and intrigue. I especially liked Sugar Ray as the bad henchman. So much to recommend about this season three episode!

BARNEY ROLLS WITH THE PUNCHES.

PART II The Conclusion.

I agree with the last reviewer, this is a fantastic two part episode, and perhaps the best in that category, largely because it takes on different material and rides with it. Who would ever thought Phelps and his crew would get into boxing? You have to admit, poetic license runs rampant here because Barney is supposedly a tech guru. What are the chances of a technical person suddenly becoming a boxer? But it's all in the game.

This second half finds Phelps almost exposed for manipulating the boxing match (you have to love these tense moments), and Barney really getting roughed up in the ring. This was Greg Morris' finest hour, able to show off his acting and physical skills. He's the one to watch, along with Rollin, pretending to be his manager among other undercover duties.

Popular Australian actor Ron Randall is spot on as the good for nothing boxing promoter, who you know is going to get his. Surprisingly, guest star boxer Sugar Ray Robinson plays a bad guy, and is a very good actor. Also look for Biff Elliot as Kid Wilson, top heavy in movies and tv.

Another well written gem by William Read Woodfield who could crank out an interesting story.

Greg Morris should have gotten an Emmy nod for his hard work, above and beyond the call of duty.

SEASON 3 EPISODE 3 remastered color CBS/Paramount. 7 dvd box set. Released 2007.
