  Rollin Hand : That's just for making the drugs.

  James Phelps : You confessed to selling them. But your tax returns didn't show any income from those sales.

  Cinnamon Carter : Which means, Mr. Halder, you're gonna spend the next 20 years in a federal prison for tax fraud.

  Raymond Halder : I'm Raymond Halder, Halder Clinics. We have millions of your Dilatrin tablets on hand. Will we be reimbursed when we turn them in?

  Charles Gant : Well, obviously, Mr. Halder, we can't do that. It's costing us a great deal already just to redesign the tablet and change the color every month.

  Cinnamon Carter : And now, ladies and gentlemen, if there are any further questions, I'll be very glad to answer them.

• Raymond Halder : Just out of curiosity, how high do you figure on living?

  James Phelps : I make $142.50 a week working for the FDC. If I could... Let's say, double that, that would be living enough.

  Raymond Halder : How do I know I can trust you?

  James Phelps : Well, it's not going to cost you much to find out.

  Raymond Halder : All right. You're on the payroll.

  James Phelps : He does. If I were you, I'd take his opinion pretty seriously.

  Raymond Halder : What do you mean by that?

  James Phelps : He's a hard cop, Mr. Halder. He's tough. You can't tell what he might do. You people in the drug business are vulnerable. He might just take it into his head one day to pick you up for carrying the wrong kind of drugs -- the illegal kind. He can do it, believe me.

  Raymond Halder : Ohh. Get him up here.

• Cinnamon Carter : Well, the compression, texture, and shape are fine. I don't taste any medication at all. What's in these tablets?

  Raymond Halder : The same thing we use in Penicillin, Digitalis, Insulin, whatever we make -- milk powder.

  Cinnamon Carter : Let's see how the coating looks.

• James Phelps : Mr. Halder, as I see it, there are two ways to go.I can keep on hounding you,I can keep on hitting you with misdemeanors, I can $500-fine you to death, maybe I can even put you away in the county farm for 60 or 90 days. Or... I can let you operate. Sort of, live and let live, you know?

• Rollin Hand : I figured you were trying to square a pinch for this lady,but this is something else.

  Raymond Halder : If you're trying to up the ante,why don't you just say so?

  Rollin Hand : Now, take it easy, Halder. Look, if he gets what he wants from this miss borden, he stands to make a fortune, Right?

  James Phelps : That's right.

  Rollin Hand : So, let him pay what it's worth.

  Raymond Halder : [sighs]  Tell me one thing, can you do it?

  Rollin Hand : Yeah. I can do it, and it'll work. People -- well, they get kind of tight and clammy when you put the cuffs on them and it starts pinching their wrists.

  Raymond Halder : And how much?

  Rollin Hand : Ten big ones.

  Raymond Halder : All right, you've got a deal.

  Rollin Hand : Thanks a lot. Just see to it that she's in your apartment by midnight, hmm? I'll take it from there.
