"Cheerleader in Chains" opens with Mork earning his driver's license, though he manages to drive off with the mechanic still under the hood! Future CHEERS alumnus Paul Willson drops by as neighbor Bob Miller, who serves a subpoena requiring Mindy to testify on a highway construction scandal that she reported on the air, and betray her source. Larry Carroll, as himself, reports Mindy's arrest for not giving up her confidential informant, encountering fellow inmate Louise Bailey (Barbara Billingsley), who wonders how such a young cutie could wind up in 'a hellhole like this!' Mindy assumes that Louise was arrested for illegal parking, only to find that the policeman found her husband's arm falling out ("what was he doing in the trunk?" "not much!"). After 31 years of putting up with her husband's snoring she's been sleeping well ever since. Mork refuses to believe that Louise could have murdered her husband: "come on, she looks like Mrs. Cleaver!" Mindy's determination not to break her vow of silence keeps her behind bars longer than she had intended, playing Mork's harmonica: "it's amazing, nine days and she still hasn't improved at all!" Mindy tries to prevent her husband from breaking her out: "Mork, put that finger down!"
