This begins as a reprise to Maggie and Fleischman's dalliance in the barn. She doesn't think she ever had sex with him. We, as viewers, know that's not true. Of course, she is furious, blaming him for trying to mess up her reputation. But while with Mike, the reality settles on her and she realizes it did happen. Quite far fetched, of course. While this is going, Ed is told by his uncle in the tribe that he needs a wife. A young Indian woman named Debbie is chosen for him, but the modern world settles in on them--she has a white boyfriend. In a charming story, Holling and Ruth Anne go looking for a unique chickadee. They are both avid birders. Their time together shows what friendship, common interests, and respect are all about. Their moments together are so joyful and uplifting.
