The Ghost In The Air Conditioner
Jimmy_the_Gent415 November 2017
Felix is hearing noises in the night and suspects that the long deceased former tenant's ghost is in their air conditioner.

Many sitcoms have ghost stories and this is a funny one. Felix tries a seance with Murray,Miriam and Myrna only to be interrupted by a practical joking Oscar. The duo decide to consult an occult expert named Dr Clove, played by the great character actor Victor Buono. Buono is excellent and funny, so much he returned in a later episode playing a different role. The studio audience all recognized him and gave him warm applause on both his first and last appearance in this episode.

THE EXORCIST BELONGS TO WEIGHT WATCHERS!
tcchelsey23 June 2023
The exorcist, called Dr. Clove, without too much surprise, is the eccentric big guy, Victor Buono! Hooray!

He is absolutely hilarious, and loaded with one-liners. His new book is called "How to Exorcise at Home." 'Nuf said. Clove is called in by paranoid Felix, who believes that the apartment air conditioner is haunted by a former deceased tenant? Oscar thinks he's nuts, and so this wacky story goes and goes. Truly creative writing 101 and Buono is having lots of fun with his role. He's also expensive, trying to stick the guys with a big bill for his services to rid the unfriendly spirit.

Michael Leeson wrote the story, which is one of the best of the season, and usually ghost stories are off the wall anyway. Aside from the ODD COUPLE, Leeson also wrote for THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY and later, THE COSBY SHOW. Not to be missed, especially for the great Victor Buono, who is also a musician and plays "Peg o' My Heart." SEASON 4 EPISODE 12 ABC dvd box set.
