- Gunn (Craig Stevens) is contacted by Victor Majeski (Vladmir Sokoloff). He is concerned that is daughter, who has recently been released from jail, has not come home. Gunn learns that Ellen Majeski (Jeanne Eates) spent several years in jail because she would not testify against her boyfriend Marty (Frank Lee). Marty committed a robbery, and Ellen took the rap because she loved him. While in jail, Ellen had some plastic surgery to correct a facial deformity. Gunn finds Ellen and tells her about her father's concerns. Ellen laughs bitterly and explains that her father died when she was 4 years old. Gunn goes back to Victor to demand an explaination. Victor admits that he is not Ellen's father, but was paid by someone else who wanted to find Ellen. Further investigation leads Gunn to Marty, who gets nervous because the detective has gotten too close. Marty pulls a gun and admits that he never loved Ellen. He just played on her affections to stay out of jail. He wants to make sure that Ellen doesn't tell the truth about his involvement in the crime. Ellen has overheard the conversation, and she shoots Marty, killing him. Before Gunn leads her to the police station, Ellen regrets that she didn't kill Marty before she had surgery to make her pretty.
