Much to Den Perry's dismay the Pheonix Club is flourishing.
The strongest scenes of the finale for me involve the 'Stars In Your Eyes' night and the contributions made by the regular characters. Everyone has a moment in the spotlight and all are wonderfully funny in their own ways. Plus the reaction of Brian and others to what they see on stage is equally as funny.
Max and Paddy have their own (almost disconnected) subplot that follows on well from the previous episode, but feels for the purpose of setting up 'Max and Paddy's Road To Nowhere'. This is a slightly weaker aspect of the episode, but it makes you want to watch the spin-off, so does it's job.
Brian's final showdown with Den is a fitting moment before the curtain comes down on a classic comedy.
It's an 8.5/10 for me but I round upwards.
