In two of the first five episodes, Mickey bonded with someone encountered in the line of duty. The first was a guy he talked off the ledge: they wound up briefly as drinking buddies. This time he brings out the faint remnants of humanity in a psycho prison escapee. Neither of those fellas lived to the end of their episode. Befriending Mickey is starting to seem like a dangerous undertaking that's a shortcut to the undertaker. Is this an example of what people mean when they talk about "toxic masculinity"?
