Storyline
Plot Summary |
Yet another Number Two is retiring to make way for a successor, who will receive the hand-over at a ceremony. Number Six hears that a bomb made by the elderly Watchmaker is to be detonated at the ceremony, killing the retiring Number Two and, with the Watchmaker's daughter, goes to warn him. The assassination would be calamitous for the Village. Number Six must stop this plan. Written by don @ minifie-1 |

Did You Know?
Trivia | "It's your Funeral" refers to "jamming" and "jammers", i.e. constant hoax attempts to keep the authorities busy. The Situationist International referred to some of its activities as being like "radio jamming" in 1968, the year after "It's your Funeral" was aired. Negativland claims to have invented the phrase "culture/cultural jamming" in 1984 to describe billboard alteration. "It's your Funeral" is perhaps one of the earliest uses of the term jamming in a political context. See more » |

The Prisoner: [to the new Number Two] Yes, and so the great day is nearly over. Went off rather well, I thought. Better than planned. And now you can look forward to your own retirement. And I'm sure they'll arrange something equally suitable for you when the day comes. Be seeing you. See more » |
