More soap opera than horse opera
bkoganbing20 April 2019
This Rawhide episode has drover John Ericson close enough to visit mother Rosemary DeCamp and brother John Cassavetes who are feuding with neighbor Leif Erickson. Erickson has a pretty daughter Anne Helm that both Ericson and Cassavetes are interested in.

Cassavetes is a brooding angry type with a perpetual chip on his shoulder and Leif Erickson makes it clear he does not want him near Helm no way, no how.

Guest stars take center stage in this episode although Helm is a bit of a tease and tries her wiles on an injured Clint Eastwood.

Erickson and DeCamp are carrying a big secret around. As I said it's a good episode with a plot you are more likely to see in soap opera.

Fine episode

A quality storyline with superb acting, especially from John Casavettes, who plays the role of the brooding and troubled Cal Fletcher who will do anything to get what he wants most in the world. The guest actors are the shining light in this episode who take centre stage and provide polished performances to the story. Highly recommended.
