Pete Nolan's kin
bkoganbing10 August 2019
Some Indians have stolen about 30 head of cattle and Pete Nolan, Hey Soos, Jim Quince and Rowdy Yates go after them and they're caught. But it turns out these are Cheyenne who have left their reservation and are going to Mexico. And they're old friends of Sheb Woolley who in fact married Chief Abraham Sofaer's daughter back in the day. He's a widower now though.

These are his people and Woolley looks to help them. But the others are prisoners and resent it. There's also a posse on the trail of the Cheyenne.

One of the few episodes where Sheb Woolley takes center stage. Story on a much larger scale was used for Cheyenne Autumn a few years later. This one is for his fans. Elements of Hondo in this story also.

Unusual and interesting

I found this episode featuring Sheb Wooley to be extremely interesting. Maybe that's just because the "Pete" character was so prominent. I had no idea of Pete's past so learning about his former life I found fascinating. More tv shows should do in-depth episodes of their "minor" characters. It adds so much and keeps a tv show fresher than constantly focusing on the same few main characters which can get tiresome over the years. I've watched so many western tv shows and movies over a 60 year period it takes a lot to keep my interest. This episode definitely did showing the Indian and white man perspectives. I recommend it.
