Passing through a small New Mexico town, Reno Raines decides to spend the night in a local motel. Bad timing: a woman (whom he had actually met earlier) has just been killed and, as the only outsider in town, he is quickly arrested as a suspect. To prove his innocence, he has to use his detecting expertise from his cop days to find the real killer, and do it before his real identity is exposed by the state police. I liked this episode. It goes in an unusual direction for the series - a detective murder mystery - and the interaction between Reno and the sheriff who arrests him but gradually begins to change his mind about a lot of things is engaging. Plus, Kathleen Kinmont looks really fine. (**1/2)
