I like this one very much too. The misunderstandings and deceptions. The nice surprises too. Exactly the way every dances are at that age. And the fact that Liz reflects on her life through her journal again, with a very true and mature view on things. She and Max were clearly at a dead end in their relationship, so there needed to be this sudden break. In a very messy and out of character way. To see them mismatched for a while, and get the season arc to a whole different direction. And the show back to good writing and drama. Liz's reaction to seeing Max and Tess kiss, still make me laugh, after all these years. But the rest of the series couples are given a break for once. So the closing scene, is still the best part of the episode. Even without « Undertow ». Much can't be said about other scenes... It's very melancholic, and make it look as if the series was finally done with all the nonsense. Until the next episode...
