Inspector Lestrade is called in when a notorious criminal is run over by a milk wagon. He finds £200, a coin and a coded letter in the dead man's possession
Lestrade goes straight to Sherlock Holmes who deciphers the letter. Holmes concludes that the dead man has a rendezvous at the Eiffel Tower on a certain date and a certain time.
Holmes and Watson go to the top of the Eiffel Tower. While Lestrade is at the bottom. Holmes gets into a struggle with some men who want the coin. Holmes drops the coin.
Although it lands near Lestrade, he does not see the value in it. A random woman picks up the coin and walks off with it when Lestrade notes it is not his.
Now Holmes needs to find her. He deduces from Lestrade's description that she is a showgirl.
Another barmy episode. A bit too flaky for my liking and it is not much of a plot.
