Most memorable and my favorite episode of silk. Treated to some real eye candy with Paula Trickey!
blanbrn9 December 2007
Must I say aside from the good plot and acting of this episode two words describe it as a must watch Paula Trickey! The beauty queen and TV guest star actress and former model clearly made this episode shine and certainly spiced it up with her beautiful and sexy ravishing looks! From the first time I saw her at the start of this episode in a sexy and silk laced pink bra and panties I was addicted to this episode! Paula's looks are just terrific! Now on to the summary this episode titled "Ghosts of the Past" from season four of "Silk Stalkings"(the sexy crime drama that was steamy for USA cable network in the 90's) aired in December of 1994. It features the beautiful and sexy Paula Trickey as a now rich and elegant socialite Suzanne Reicher who's escaped a troubled past or so it seems, as the episode starts showing her being married to a rich West Palm Beach, Florida computer businessman only she hides her little secret she goes out and works as a high class call girl. This little hobby is connected to her past life in L.A. and Beverly Hills, California where she worked as an escort for a mean and brutal pimp Bobby(John Mariano) who beat and mistreated her. So Suzanne escaped to the east coast, only once Bobby got out of prison he followed her to Florida and now is starting the business back only this time he's blackmailing her and taking away her earnings! Good plot and storyline just like many episodes of "Silk" and the investigating of crime was always top notch and this episode reaches a good justice like finish. Clearly a terrific and hot steamy episode made my favorite by the scenes of Paula in sexy colored bras and panties making it a must watch many times a great treat on the eyes of entertainment and fantasy. The storyline proved too that sometimes peoples past can haunt and follow them.

Another pointless, boring episode in a really bad season

While "Silk Stalkings" is not Shakespeare, it's an entertaining tv show. It has a good balance of eye candy, great humor and interesting cases. The third season was definitely the high point.

But something happened between the third and fourth season. The producers must've decided to fix something that wasn't broken, because up to this point, every single episode is not only below par, but boring and pointless. The focus shifts drastically from the cases and sceneries (and even the eye candy) to the personal lives of the detectives. The problem is that most issues they face are resolved at the end of each episode, and the next one is like nothing happened. The cases are not only insignificant, but have moved the background as the writing focus on soap-opera-like plots.

"Ghosts of the Past" is easily the worse of the lot. 80% of the episode is focused on Lorenzo and his girlfriend fighting over who pays for dinner... I mean, seriously??? The case they're supposed to investigate pretty much solves itself as both Chris and Rita are barely doing any investigation, and even Paula Trickey, who is a bombshell and is dressed in some really sexy dresses, can't save this episode as the script itself is pretty much trash (and Paula is an great actress too, but she had nothing to work with here).

Also, and I don't know why, both Rob Estes and Mitzi Kapture seem so out of it this season, like they couldn't care less. They're levels of performance have dropped significantly this season, and in most episodes they're just seem to phone in their lines.

(And have you also noticed how the bright colors that dominated the first three seasons, are pretty much gone and were replaced with dull ones? It's like no one cares anymore this season. I wonder if something has happened behind the scenes. Maybe the fact that Rob Estes wanted to leave at the end of the third season had something to do with it... But whatever the reason, the fourth season is really plain bad. And this, and "Time Share" and "Vengeance" are the worse of the lot and an example to had bad this season is).
