- In a world where Egypt colonised America, Arturo, Wade, Rembrandt and Quinn disturb a pyramid burial site, releasing a giant monster scarab and accidentally breaking the timer.
- On a world where Alexander was not so great, the Egyptian empire has spread to the west coast of the USA. The pharaoh has just died and they are interring him when the sacred scarab (a genetically engineered, monster beetle made to guard the pharaoh's tomb from looters) attacks a local woman. Quinn and Wade try to save her and Wade is sentenced to interment with the dead pharaoh where she will become food for the sacred scarab. Quinn is sent to a hospital where he is killed and revived in a bizarre life-after-death experiment. The professor rescues Wade. Rembrandt finds Quinn just after he has been killed and returns to the others thinking that Quinn is dead. When the doctor revives Quinn, he refuses to divulge any information about the afterlife until she helps him find his friends. They are inside the pyramid when the scarab escapes and the pyramid prematurely seals itself. The pyramid architect is inside when this happens and he reveals that there is a secret escape tunnel that can only be opened from the computer room. The architect is then immediately eaten by the scarab. They discover that the pyramid is set to rotate slowly, completing a rotation every five years so that more people (i.e. food for the scarab) can be put into the pyramid via the secret tunnel. Rembrandt and company figure out what is going on when they see a news story about Quinn. Quinn escapes the pyramid and everyone is reunited just in time to slide out of Egyptian world.
