In the 1980s, students at Hamlet Public School in Stratford Ontario began performing their own versions of Shakespeare's plays - a tradition
maintained for over 20 years, and chronicled in the short video To Tom Patterson, with Love (2020). Each year, the performances were usually attended by actors and directors of the Stratford Festival.
During this episode, Geoffrey watches a video of "The King of New Burbage", a biography of his predecessor Oliver Welles. The Madness of King Richard (2003) is a biography of Richard Monette, who served as Artistic Director of the Stratford Festival (which the New Burbage Festival is based on) from 1994 to 2007.
