While in Command Center, Brian remarks how Alpha's computer can't talk, but its voice is heard many times during the first season (as well as an episode this season), voiced by Barbara Kelly.
There is an obvious dub in the opening scene when Koenig orders "Come on, come on. I wanna know what's pulling us off course."
Brian had landed the Swift on the planet in close proximity to the location of the mother ship. Oddly, Brian remains oblivious to the presence of Eagle One on the planet, which had to have been equally close to the mother ship, having been boarded by Tony and Maya.
On Voyager's Return (1975) it was stated that the Queller Drive provided mankind's only means of star travel, which was too dangerous to involve a live crew. So how could a star mission have departed from Earth in 1996?
Maya uses the computer records to confirm Brian's story about being a part of Captain Michael's Deep Space Mission that left Earth in 1996.
That's only three years before the Moon left Earth's orbit! An astronaut like John Koenig would have remembered that without the computer's help as Koenig has previously remembered missions like the Ultra Probe, the Astro 7 Mission, and the Uranus Probe.
A probe consisting of a mothership and three Swift support ships leaving the Solar System would also have been big news in Earth media.
(Note: Evidently, at the start of the episode, Brian had remotely inserted false information into Alpha's computer banks regarding the moon's change in course as well as Brian's space mission - which likely had departed Earth sometime after the moon had blasted away (explaining the Swift's advanced propulsion system) in order to prove he was really from Earth. It would seem that Brian's apparent manipulation of their computer was responsible for its sluggish behavior while they attempted to search ahead of them in space prior to detecting the Swift).
