This is the only episode that features all of the primary cast members from both the beginning and end of the series, with the exception of April Clough, who played Vicki Taylor in four first-season episodes before being written out.
While this was the first of James Darren's 60 episodes as Jim Corrigan, it was the last appearances for both Lee Bryant as Fran Hooker and Nicole Eggert as Chrissie Hooker. It also was the second-to-last episode in which Richard Herd, who played Captain Dennis Sheridan, was part of the primary cast as he was dropped to a recurring role beginning in the third season and appeared only nine times thereafter.
This is an homage of sorts to The Dukes of Hazzard (1979) (which was still in production as of the air date) in that there are two guys (one of whom was a racer) in a Dodge Charger fleeing from the police, to include the Charger getting airborne trying to jump a truck.
