A Marshall In Need
nlathy-839-30067711 June 2020
Familiar Western tale of a gang trying to free an a prisoner.Handled better in Rio Bravo. Odd seeing Buddy Ebsen playing a villain. He's better at it than George Kennedy.Wallace Ford is good as Marshall who doesn't want help.No High Noon here

Bad Directing
GrantAZ26 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I was shocked at how bad the Directing was in this episode. I'm a huge fan of this series but this was laughable. From the not believable action sequences starting with the old Marshall physically kicking over George Kennedy (not going to happen), to the scene where right in the middle of a gunfight one of the bad guys tries to casually walk across the roof and then climb down on boxes, right in plain sight, to get shot from the Sheriff's office front door. No one would do that! Then, one of the townsfolk subdues Epsom and right in the middle of a gunfight, just pops out the saloon door where everyone has been shooting at and says "Hardy, don't shoot!" He would have been shot before he could have said one word. Terrible delivery of lines. Just an unbelievable, laughable episode to watch even with the star power of the guest actors. What a waste.
