This is the fourth and final story that Gavin MacLeod appears in for this series. In each story, he plays a different character. His career was soon to take off, playing recurring roles in several popular TV shows of the '60s, '70s, and '80s: most particularly as Happy in McHale's Navy (1962), Murray Slaughter in The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970), and, perhaps best remembered, as Captain Stubing in The Love Boat (1977).
Adjusted for inflation, the $5,000 Benjy leaves to Julie would equal approximately $120,600 in the year 2024.
This is the second and final appearance Cloris Leachman makes in the series and the only appearance she makes in the same episode with Gavin MacLeod, with whom she would appear as Phyllis Lindstrom and he as Murray Slaughter in recurring roles in the long-running TV sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970).
Given an uncredited bit part as one of the nightclub patrons in this show, Charlie Picerni is perhaps better known in the industry for his work as a stunt coordinator/director, as well as performing stunts and acting as stunt doubles for other actors. His work in Die Hard (1988) and the franchise that followed made him a star in the field of movie stunts. The actor who plays Lee Hobson in The Untouchables (1959) is in real life his brother.
