Strange episode

Warning: Spoilers
So many things in this episode didn't ring true. Warning spoilers ahead!!!!

1. I don't think Flint would have shot to kill that "horse thief" so quickly, without at least shouting "Stop or I'll shoot!".

2. If I were falsely accused of being a horse thief, I wouldn't go for my gun but throw up my hands and shout "No!! No!!!! I'm not stealing this horse" and then explain I was buying it.

3. Not plausible that the wagon master and other wagon train witnesses would not try to determine exactly who shouted "horse thief", especially since a man was killed.

4. Weird that Flint didn't tell the widow about the death of her husband and that he was the shooter sooner, very much out of character for Flint.

Whole episode very hard to swallow.

Horse thief?
bkoganbing9 July 2014
This Wagon Train episode has Robert Horton planning to visit an old friend Gloria DeHaven in the next town. She's married to the mayor of the town and they have a son played by Michael Burns.

But before that happens when someone yells 'horse thief' on the Wagon Train and all the regulars run out after him, it's Horton who shoots him. They examine his identification and it's the solid citizen that is married to DeHaven and father of her son.

There's a logical explanation for all of this as to why this solid pillar of the community might be a horse thief. But we do take the entire length of the episode to find out.

DeHaven was gorgeous as ever and does well as a concerned mother. For her fans especially.
