The storekeeper's daughter
bkoganbing3 April 2013
Accent is on comedy as Robert Fuller nearly gets trapped into a marriage by just being a gentleman in this Wagon Train episode. Seems as though before he signed on to scout for John McIntire and the Wagon Train he was paying court to Jennifer Billingsley who plays two very beautiful twins. He promised he'd look up the one he liked.

But the other one gets married and her man leaves for West Point and then on the way gets shanghaied on a whaler. And now the other one who married on Calvin Smith Brown is looking to shanghai Cooper Smith in the role of father and husband. And her grateful father Peter Whitney makes him a partner in his general store.

Wagon Train scout Cooper Smith looks just great in a storekeeper's apron as all the Wagon Train crew comments.

To top it all off Jody McCrea playing the real dad shows up and things get even stickier.

A nice offering from Wagon Train's last season.

Gilligan's Island meets wagon train....

This one was actually pretty good if you are a Coop fan, good comedy and probably the last episode with Hawks, Hale, and the rest of the crew appearing together. The soundtrack is very Gilligan's Island, kept expecting him to pop out yelling " Skippperrrrrrr..." as he heads for the hills!

Waaaaay too silly for my taste!!

I didn't find this episode amusing at all. Just way too silly for me. Seemed like I was watching some really dopey & forgettable sitcom like Gomer Pyle. So lame I didn't even finish watching it! I'd call this episode "Wagon Train Jumps the Shark". I can't wait until they start showing the earlier Wagon Train episodes with Ward Bond, they were masterpieces compared to this!!! Just my opinion.
